Mahira Hafeez Khan, Known as Mahira Khan is a top actress in Pakistan. It is no exaggeration to say that she is pushing the Pakistani industry. She was a former VJ but later turned to act. Mahira is one of the highest-paid actresses in Pakistan. Mahira Khan is from Karachi and speaks Urdu. She was born on 21 December 1984 (age: 33 years).

She received her early education from the Foundation Public School in Karachi and completed her O-level at the age of 16. She later moved to California for higher education, where she attended Santa Monica College. She enrolled at the University of Southern California for her bachelor’s degree, but never completed it and moved to Pakistan where she joined the showbiz industry.

Mahira Khan’s Drama Career

Mahira started her career as a VJ in MTV Pakistan. She hosted a show called Most Wanted. She then hosted the Aag TV show Weekends with Mahira, where she played music videos in 2008 and chatted with celebrities.  She entered in the field of drama with Humayun Saeed from in  Mehreen Jabbar’s Neeyat. Then Mahira Khan got a big break, which made her the biggest star in Pakistan. She played the lead role in the Humsafar directed by Sarmad Khoosat. She played the role of Khirad Hussain; An innocent little town girl who is having a lot of trouble at the hands of fate. Mahira’s pairing with co-star Fawad Khan was well received by the audience and the play proved to be a career milestone for the leading actors. With the victory of Humsafar, Mahira again collaborated with Sarmad in Shehar e Zaat. She has won several awards for her performance in Sheher e Zaat. That same year, Mahira returned to hosting. He hosted an exhibition called TUC The Lighter Side of Life, where she invited and interviewed many celebrities. Her next project was Sadqay Tumaray directed by Mohammed Ehteshamuddin, which aired on HUM TV. She went back to the movies with Bin Roy, which turned out to be a drama.

Mahira Khan’s Film Career

Mahira entered the film industry with Bol. The show was directed by Shoaib Mansoor and Mahira played the supporting role of Ayesha along with singer star Atif Aslam. After Bol, Mahira later returned to film with Bin Roy directed by n Shahzad Kashmiri, which was a commercial success and won her Lux Style Award and HUM Award for Best Actress. She appeared in  Asim Raza directed film Ho Mann Jahan after Bin Roy along with Shehryar Munawar and Adeel Hussain. In this film, she played the role of a girl who loves to sing. She again received the Best Actress award for Ho Mann Jahan. In 2017,  She then teamed up with Shah Rukh Khan to enter Bollywood in Film Raees. Raees was moderately successful, yet managed to make Mahira a member of the Hundred Crores Club. Political tensions were rising between India and Pakistan and Pakistani artists were banned from working in Bollywood, so Mahira could not promote Raees or did any project in India.  she also stared in Shoaib Mansoor’s film Verna, Meenu Gaur-Farjad Nabi‘s 7 Din Mohabbat In. She also made a special appearance in Asim Raza’s  Film Parey Hat Luv.

Mahira Khan’s Personal Life

Mahira was born into a Pathan family, Her Parents are Urdu speaking Pathan. Her father Hafeez Khan was born in Delhi during the British Raj and moved to Pakistan after the partition of India. She has a younger brother, Hassan Khan, who is a professional journalist. She married Ali Askari in 2007 despite her father’s opposition to the marriage. She met Ali Askari in 2006 in Los Angeles. Mahira Khan’s marriage was a very simple affair, with close relatives and family members present on the occasion. The couple has a son, Azlan Askari, born in 2009. The couple had differences, but Mahira wrapped everything up wisely and it did not reveal her personal matters. However, things did not go well for her and they Both are divorced in 2015. She does not have a daughter, but some websites misrepresent her as having a daughter.
